Zodiac Spires Backpacking Trip

Did a quick backpack trip as we normally do this time of year. Last year we went far into the Gore Range and spent 4 days exploring. This year we just did a quick overnight, but with a main goal of photographing the Zodiac Spires, I hoped to get a lot of photos on this trip.

We got hailed and rained on, then the sun came out and cooked us.

After dinner we went out in search of sun set photos. The sun set on the other side of the spires, so we went to find a different object to photograph.

As the sun went down I played with some long exposures to smoothen out the fast moving clouds coming over the spires.

The stars and the Milky Way put on a great show. I got up early the next morning to watch the sunrise on the Spires.
